God's Warriors

OK, I sat through all 6 hours of CNN’s “God’s Warriors” and came away with one overarching sense that organized religion could possibly be the worst way to share the sense of unity that I believe God wants his people to have. And I mean all people, not just his chosen ones. Jews, Muslims and Christians alike all share a belief in the same God, and all share a belief that the Messiah is coming. Why can’t we all get along?

Simply stated, because man is broken. Greedy. Power hungry. Control freakish and unable to let go and let God run things. I guess it’s worse than that, actually. Man wants to run things but give the appearance that it is God doing so. Might that be blaspheme to the extreme? And I'm talking about faith communities here, not governments!

I have yet to hear a voice that says, “I am God and you shall listen to me.” I have yet to have a vision of God. Still, I have a sense of God in my life and in my community, a sense of God in this world. Nowhere in that sense is there a desire to kill another human being, especially because of the differences in faith among us. (disclaimer required - if attacked, fight back with all resources available and to a successful conclusion. If a pending attack against you is known with certainty the best defense is a good offense.)

Three questions:

Is it written somewhere that ONLY Jews can live in Israel?

If Islam is for peace and brotherhood as the Muslim moderates often say, why don’t they more formally denounce those extremists that say otherwise? Could there be a reformation of Islam? Would that make any difference to those Islamic fundamentalists that seek to kill the infidel?

And evangelical Christians, the definition of which I ascribe to if not the public perception of same, can’t seem to grasp that they too are broken and that their children are of the same blood, unable to be taught to lead a perfect life. What is it with the fundamentalist Christians that makes them think they can create laws for man to match the law of God and that somehow, because it comes from man, anyone would be able to live up to it?

CNN’s show came across to me as a proper attack on extremist religion in general and fairly well showed what I expected to see: each faith stating their superiority, each making what they consider to be a well-reasoned claim to the reason for their war, and each showing the incredible stupidity that is born of mankind.

Faith needs to be personal but shared with friends when appropriate. Faith needs to be handed down from generation to generation and sometimes taught from the child to the parent, with the awe of first realization of the love of God as a central tenet. Faith needs to be accepting of other faiths with the agape love of Jesus Christ saying, “You, my neighbor, have the right to believe whatever you hold to and we should all look forward to the day of the coming of the Messiah so that we will together look to Him and say ‘Oh My God!’”

Until that day though, it looks like a very rough road we will travel.

Friend, I honor your love for Jesus Christ, but I don't think you're heading in the right direction of thought concerning organized religion.
You see, we need Christian leaders who love God's laws and support Israel. If our leaders don't glorify God and honor His will, He will bring this country to His knees.
It is written that God establishes leaders, and when nations turn from God He destroys them (hence Nebachadnezar's Godless reign).
In this, we must become the Christian state that we used to be and not seperate God from government legislation.
There is further hope, brothers and sisters. God said to the Jews, "I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you." So we can bless Israel by signing some important petitions for their sake, so that God won't bestow his righteous judement on us yet.
One petition is to save lost Jewish artifacts from being destroyed by Palistinians on the Temple mount. The other petition is critical because we need to save a big chunk of Israel from falling into the hands of Palistinian nations. Our own administration is supporting the terrible act! You can stop these things at www.onejerusalem.org on the left side of the screen beneath where it says, "Take Action."

I'm guessing Cujo88 is Jewish, which I honor to great degree. If that is the case I'd be very interested to get their opinion on the "Saved Apart From Jesus" post of a while back, but on to comments here:

I am in support of Israel, but think it out of mans' hand at the moment, or perhaps in mans' hand while God, outside of time, lets thing roll as they might. I have been reading about Nebuchadnezar's time, and more about Cyrus and the return from Babylon. When God wants Israel to be put back together, along with all it's artifacts, He will get it done.

As for this country, I do want a Christian president, but I don't hold that as the highest attribute. I'm pretty sure that all the candidates that have a chance of winning profess faith in Jesus so it's kind of beyond that anyway.

The bigger question may be what sort of Christian do we want? One who claims great faith but lies to the people? One who kills tens of thousands of innocents? That's what we've got now. Going down the road, is Giulianni's faith what you're looking for? Is Mitt Romney acceptable?

Jimmy Carter was the best example of a modern day president of Christian faith. He lives his faith and manages to proclaim while not wearing it on his shirtsleeve.

What is a Christian Warrior?

A Christian Warrior is a person with no pride. A person who realizes that God holds the future. God holds the future to the point that I fear him and I must serve him.
For it is not he that willeth or he that runneth but God that showeth mercy.
If I am going to be a warrior of God then I have to believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that dillegently seek him.
What does it mean to seek God. Three things. I have got to read God's word which means DVD's or CD's. I have got to try to live by his rules. Everything an upright and just man does will prosper. Everything a wicked man does will be blown away as the chaff. I've got to pray day and night.
Not for greed or filty lucre but for a sound mind and to survive. That is where the line is drawn. When a man say he loves God but his action say he hates his brother the love of God is not in him. For how can a man say he loves God who he hath not seen and hate his brother who he hath seen.
We can use God's name every day and do evil Bush has proven that becuase it is what is in your heart flows through every day. You can run but you cannot hide.

The wisdom of this world is foolishness in Gods eyes so serve the wisdom of God and serve your fellow man. God is real. This situation is real.
