Voting Times

I was at the poll in my white-bread suburban Los Angeles neighborhood right when it opened, 7am. The young woman came out just as my wife and I arrived and announced loudly and proudly, "The polls are open!" Good stuff.

It took about 25 minutes, total, for us to get through the line, be given a ballot, cast it and hand it off to the reader.

How was it in your neighborhood?

The seniors on my block were all on line early. There were NO young people. Maybe too early for them.

They better get up and vote or all the Obamamania will be for naught.

I went to my voting location at about 11 am and was in and out in about 10 minutes. I truly sympathize for those who had to wait so long, or experienced problems at the booth.

I'm very happy with the outcome tonight. :-)

i got there right at 6 when they opened and there was already a line of about 50 people, but it still took just 30 minutes. and the line had died down. the majority of the folks were college aged and then people in their 40s.
there were no lines the rest of the day, as there were 3 stations within walking distance of my house. that helped alot!

Well, I have you all beat. Four hours!!!. Of course our state went to McCain, and I had to listen to many comments around me.

Now that the election is over, I can think of at least nine folks that I have had "words" with over the election. I think some of my anger has to do with me letting others around here influence my vote in previous elections.

This year I spoke my beliefs..

I got to my voting place at 7:00 AM and got in line. I voted at 8:45 AM. I used the 1:45 min to talk to the people I had in front and behind me in line.

My first time voting as a US Citizen! I have to admit, I was looking froward to the long line and participating in the whole "experience" on Nov. 4th as much as I could.

Now I am looking forward to Jury Duty (I know, I am a geek) :-)
